Original Club Additions and Renovations
After enjoying a few years with our original club, it was now time to think about expansion. We had been hurting for office space as well as storage space and a decent size room to hold private, board & executive type meetings.
What is now our cloak room was our office and what is now our bar was our cloak room. You can see by the time we put table and chairs in what is now our cloak room, it didn’t leave hardly any space for filling cabinets and our copy machines which were required for putting out our monthly bulletins.
It was logical then to complete expansion to take care of this problem first. This was accomplished by moving out into the parking lot on the Waterloo St. and Wadsworth St. side and going behind the bandshell down to our previous property line prior to purchasing the house next door.
When President Len Ellis opened up this new addition in 1972, it now gave us a lovely BoardRoom and separate office as well as a good size badly needed storage room. We even had a place to put a ladder and our other maintenance objects such as bucket, mop, brooms etc. We did loose a few parking spots but we would overcome that problem by purchasing the house across the road and knocking it down.

Our next and last Expansion stretched from our original wall along where you now see the trophy cabinets and covered the area where we knocked down the house next door. We excavated for a lower deck, which would serve as a meeting room for the Ladies Auxiliary and other uses such as rental area etc. Also incorporated into our new addition would be new separate Heads for male and female, a new Billiards Room and a nice new Roomy Galley. This expansion was started in the summer of 1983 under the Presidency of Roy Dinner and finished in 1984 under President Ozzie Stemmler. The Building Chairman was Les Staley. A great job was done by all and the quality of the project is reflected in the building itself. Over the years many renovations and updates have taken place. For instance our heating and air conditioning systems have been updated and it has been said that we have the best looking bar in Brantford. We look forward to many happy years in our club rooms, so enjoy yourselves and if you can help by serving on the Board of Directors or in any other of the Club functions, do so and I think you will get a great feeling of usefulness and enjoyment.
